To investigate the presence of eye preference and whether this correlates with individual horse’s reactivity/arousal and heart rate.
To observe behaviour and body language as indicators to horse’s emotionality, perception, and arousal state.

Based on my small test sample of 10 horses tested for eye bias, heart rate and emotional arousal my study found:
As I continue to develop further research into eye bias in horses, my work with clients and horses will certainly investigate whether each individual horse has a discernable eye bias and whether or not this can be utilized when considering the welfare and safety of horses and their owners.
